Hotels: the mature end

This is the oldest, most proven decision AI in hospitality; if you run a hotel of any size, one of these categories of tool is table stakes. Both are enterprise products, priced and sold accordingly.

Restaurants: strong tools, narrow lanes

Crunchtime and MarketMan own restaurant inventory and purchasing at multi-site scale — recipe costing, supplier orders, stock counts, food-cost control. Tenzo connects restaurant data (POS, labour, reviews) into analytics and forecasts with a strong operator focus. Nory applies AI to restaurant operations — forecasting, labour and inventory — aimed at growing multi-site groups. 7shifts owns scheduling: rota building, labour compliance, team communication.

All good tools. Notice the shape, though: each covers one lane deeply. The operator assembles three or four subscriptions and remains, personally, the only place where pricing, prep, rota and purchasing decisions meet — the integration layer is the owner's head, usually at midnight.

The gap: the decision layer for independents

What none of the above provides: one system that looks at the *whole* operation — covers forecast, menu margins, prep and waste, rota versus demand, cash — and recommends specific decisions with their consequences projected, then tracks whether they worked.
